In Australia, there are three members of the Vincentian Family who are working together in collaboration to organise the Vincentian Family Celebration.
Congregation
of the Mission
The Vincentians are a Community of Priests and Brothers in the Catholic Church. In Australia and Fiji, the Vincentian Mission is
carried out in: Schools, Seminaries, Parishes (Urban and Rural), Retreats, Missions, Spiritual Direction, Chaplaincies,
Diocesan Tribunals. Vincentians also work with the Daughters of Charity and assist the St Vincent de Paul Society.
The Daughters of Charity
The Daughters of Charity are a world wide community of women of Apostolic life who seek and serve God in persons who are poor.
The Daughters of Charity work hard to make a difference in the lives of people in need. They are educators, social workers,
parish associates, community activists and care givers to the poorest of the poor. They feed those who are hungry, heal those
who are sick, and love those who are unwanted in a spirit of humility,
simplicity and love.
The St Vincent de Paul Society's 40,000 members and volunteers work hard to assist people in need and combat social injustice
across Australia. Members of the Society are people who live out their faith in action by visiting people in their homes to
provide
support, friendship and material assistance. Home visitation has been the core work of the Society for the
past 130 years.
By visiting people in their homes, the St Vincent de Paul Society aims to help men, women
and families to break their
cycle of poverty and disadvantage. Internationally, the Society has over 1 million members
in over 130 countries.
